With its traditional annual celebration, Aalborg University (AAU) recognized five new honorary doctorate recipients, one for each of the university's scientific main areas. The event took place on Friday, 19 April at Musikkens Hus in Aalborg where 750 guests were invited to what this year also marked the university's 50th anniversary.
The honorary doctorate is awarded on the recommendation of the faculties. The SSH faculty selected both a social science researcher and a humanities researcher for the honorary doctorate.
It is awarded to highly recognized researchers who have contributed to scientific development at AAU through international cooperation.
The new honorary doctorate recipients are:
Cynthia Rosenzweig
Professor at Barnard College and Senior Research Scientist at NASA GISS, USA. Selected for the honorary doctorate by the Technical Faculty of IT and Design
